Finding The Right Tool

Tools are the essence of personal development. We all seek the right program or product to help us achieve greater proficiency in any area of our life. We all have psychic capabilities simply because we all have spirit within us. We are also all born with particular talents and, to some, even a calling. I consider the calling to be less of a pre-ordained future, than the realization and manifestation of what you become passionate about. Our calling may change over time, as we gain new experiences, some of which are not so fun. As one begins their journey, they may find church or religion as a tool for learning how to communicate with the divine. I respect those individuals and their choice, but I personally have found my own way of connecting with the divine that is completely unique to my energy and spirit. I use tarot cards. I read them for myself, and now for others. I see them as a life tool for receiving insight from spirit without having to actually listen in my mind.

However, it is important that your tool not be your crutch. It could easily be mine, but I know it is not the cards that are doing the work, but my own spirit - possibly even through the energies of the spirits that surround and protect me. It is that "team" of guides that is necessary to be in contact with. Sometimes just being willing to receive messages in a new way will open you to a broader aspect of your innate psychic ability.

Putting On Different Glasses

I was challenged by a former Christian comedian to consider the possibility that there is no God. To actually take time to put on those glasses and examine the question, Is There A God?, from a new perspective. So, I did. What came about was a new recognition of what religion really is. I'm not one to offend, but I will say that it is highly likely all religion is simply a container for our desire to make sense of this world. More importantly, to see someone or something in control of such a chaotic human race, and to find a way to define right from wrong. I do not affiliate with any religion. My quest is purely one day at a time. But, I learned a valuable lesson. To believe one way without examining the other is to leave your faith open to question, if not interpretation. It is time we all put on 'different glasses' and respect ourselves enough to seek truth without a container.

More on the existence of God later...

My Higher Purpose

In evaluating my own life, I think I have two higher purposes. One is more long-term and it involves the need to express with words the spiritual journey of a soul through writing. Yet I don't know that this will be achieved in this life time. It may be several lifetimes before I have experienced enough that it will be done. Second, is my purpose to awaken the creativity and intuition within myself that in turn enhances my ability to express. This is life from another point of view.

The Truth In Totality

The truth can only be found in the totality of all religions and sets of beliefs. The expression of each religion touches on the original truth and together we find the source of all truth. We receive this truth and we have the wisdom to discern all religions for their aspect of truth. We receive this truth and we have the wisdom to understand all religions as man has created them to define the world and its source of power. It is the ultimate place of discernment and a high act of differentiation.

Only, for me - perhaps all - one must as a soul live wholeheartedly in their pursuit of truth. Each time we attach to a religion we get a glimpse of the bigger picture. But the truth can not be found in a single religion. We instead grasp each as a nugget of wisdom. Exploring the beliefs of religions and sects broadens our senses and ultimately moves us along a path of spiritual evolution over many lifetimes of experience.

Maybe the end is not death. Maybe the end is the beginning of our life as pure spirit. So, to judge our life is to bring despair. But to see the bigger picture you realize you are just in a vessel. Surrendered to a higher cause. Though that cause is not only of a higher source but also a yearning within us to develop our soul.

Perspective on Divine Power

I began my spiritual journey as a Christian, indoctrinated early by the mainstream and even charismatic church. I was blessed to see an even more unique perspective at a non-mainstream church, but have struggled with years to come into my own understanding. A wise man taught me, "Wisdom is simple, Knowledge is complex."

What the Christian faith, especially in the (IMHO) more advanced charismatic realms is that the power lies in Jesus or Father God. In reality, the power lies within us. When the Bible speaks of us all receiving the spirit of God inside, the perspective of the church comes up short.

The power we have is the same as a king or queen over a kingdom. We are not servants, but divine beings ourselves.

I mentioned in my earlier post that the soul and spirit are one and the same, or rather we have an immortal soul combined with the divine essence in all of us. That divine essence connects us to every living thing, including our divine source. Man seeks knowledge of our divine source. When rather we should seek wisdom.

What can't be comprehended is actually inside us, in the heart where the divine essence resides. Wisdom is not accessed through knowledge, but through intuition and creativity. Knowledge, however, is limitless when one operates with a pearl of greater wisdom.

If only you could see yourself as all-powerful. Able to consciously manifest the good things in life by simply realizing the divine essence working in you to develop your soul. It is a bridge of sorts. That bridge is much like connecting the conscious mind with our unconscious mind. We use our conscious mind to control the driving urges of the unconscious.

This duality can also be seen in our flesh bodies with its animalistic tendencies, tempered by the soul acting through the conscious mind. The flesh body is not evil, it simply is a tool for living in a manifest existence. The purpose of our manifest existence is to discover the divine in ourselves.

When the divine in ourselves is touched, we see the greatest law at work, Love. It acts as a counterbalance to the law of cause and effect, or to some, Karma. I do believe souls live many lives, continually evolving. But, it is only on this earthly plane that we are subject to the laws of nature. Learning what those laws are, such as the law of attraction so popularly accepted in the book, "The Secret".

But there is more than just that law at work. Our souls choose to live earthly existences until they reach a place of enlightenment that can take them no further. One who is such enlightened operates in pure unconditional love, and gives up their small ego for the bigger picture.

That is why I still believe in Jesus Christ as the exalted one. A great master who demonstrated perfectly the character of the divine and enabled all humans to have a piece of the divine.

Believe in your innate ability to manifest all that is good in your life.

Soul and Spirit

In many religions, there is the question of the soul and spirit. What are we comprised of? Is there a difference? Having spent a long time in the Christian faith as a diligent student, I have come to a higher understanding. I truly feel and believe that our souls live on in many lives and that each of us has a divine spark within. Often referred to as light, energy or holy, this spark is what connects us with the divine, who continually works with a soul in achieving understanding that is beyond rational thought. Though much in the scientific community can attest to the universe as being full of energy, it also speaks of every thing being composed of the same. There has to be something of higher intelligence driving us to completion. Where does our ability to think and feel above other living things come from otherwise? We are not plants that reaction to the law of nature, we are co-creators who have the ability to form our own futures simply through our thoughts and emotions. This transcends any organized doctrine or religion. They are merely stepping stones of souls in their ultimate development. It is our attachment to the material that blocks the realization of this truth. When we realize the immaterial is of a higher order than the material, we find contentment and abilities once hidden.
